HYDROPONICS
I have always felt its important to share my knowledge and in all my roles I have done so. As a physician, I taught medical students and residents become better doctors. I enjoyed focusing on how to build rapport using the doctor-patient relationship. In business I was often invited to give seminars on marketiong and sales techniques. In my latest role as a High School science educator, I Its important to teach the whole person by giving them the tools they need to successful. For example public speaking and presentation, critical thinking, teamwork and the list goes on.
Every student should have someone they trust wwhen they have questions. Mentoring is a natural extension of teaching. In the classroom you learn the subject matter. However outside the classroom you learn what you need to do to reach your goals. I feel fortunate to have developed relationships with many of my students.
Not all students like science. HI have discovered, from students, that the reason many don’t like it is becasue it feels like just too much memorizing and learning useless facts. In 15 years, hoiw many students will remember or even need to know how many ATP are produced from eone glucose molecule. However, why not make it so that they are finding their own answers to questions they develop? On a more basic level gamification, videos let students use stills they already have to learn new information.
